Groundnut oil also known as peanut oil is derived from peanuts or groundnuts. Groundnut oil has the flavor of

 

peanut and can be heated to high temperatures without smoking, which makes it suitable for deep-frying and stir

 

frying particularly French fries and chicken.

It is often used in salad dressings, marinades, and baked goods. The oil also has a longer shelf life because it

 

contained smaller amount polyunsaturated fatty acids that are prone to oxidation.

Major part of the oil is constituted by Mono-unsaturated fatty acid (MUFA) of 52-60% a considerable part constituted

 

by Poly-Unsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) and minor part of approx 10-12% is constituted by saturated fatty acids

 

(SFA). The oil is widely used as a cooking medium.

Uses:


Ground Nuts are beneficial in the treatment of hemophilia and other such inherited blood disorders. People

 

suffering from nose bleeding also benefit from eating groundnuts and it is also helpful in reducing excessive

 

menstruation bleeding in women.
